The Sims 3 Leak

Well well, thank you EA for stripping the DRM off your game. I for one appreciate it. It made the leak happen that much sooner.

So here’s me, creating my Sim. Enjoy.

So, my first thoughts? Why is it, that when you switch from female to male, it STILL LOOKS LIKE A GIRL? An extremely butch/lesbian girl, but still. It threw me off there for a moment… you can tell, as I switched to female again, and back to male to see if it would make a difference.

Other than that, I found the create a Sim to be EXTREMELY detailed. I like how you can have a different hair style for each outfit. You can really get down into the fine grain and customize things like shirts and pants. I made my Sim have a near identical shirt to one that my girlfriend Angela bought me, which happens to be one of my favorites.

I really like the traits aspect as well. You’re limited to five, which is kind of strange… but I understand that fully. I picked some traits that I personally think that I have now, and all of my life goals seemed to match, with the exception of becoming a chess legend… WTF? I don’t even play chess in real life. I can be a computer whiz and I can have aspirations, but that doesn’t mean I like to play chess…

Expect (or not, if you know me and my blogging habits) a full review after I play some more, if that ever even happens, because I know Ang will be playing this non-stop for the next few months. Well heck, at least it will break her WoW addiction?

Recent Downtime

I may or may not have made a huge mistake trying to delete a symlink via FTP.

Oops. Let this be a lesson to you, you cannot work with symlinks via FTP.

Hostgator is awesome enough though to keep a weekly backup of everything, and I was quickly back up and running within an hour and a half. I’ve also notice they offer SSH access… This is far superior to FTP anyhow, so you should all avoid my mistakes, and use SSH rather than FTP. Please.

On another note, Hostgator was even more awesome to waive the $15 fee associated with restoring a backup!

On another’nother note, I’ve added proper pagination to all pages on the blog now. I’ve added it to the footer of each page, and as well to the header next to the logo, just blow the advertisement. I decided to put it there, as I know many users have AdBlock enabled, and see a large white space up at the top. I wanted to remedy this with something, and the small, short pagination bar is perfect for that.
