Guide: Twitter and Digsby (AIM/YIM/MSN/FBC/GTK) Sync Guide
This is just a short simple tutorial and guide to tell you how to get you latest tweet from your twitter account, and have it automatically be placed as your status message on Digsby, which is a multi-protocol IM client, for AIM, Yahoo!, MSN, Facebook Chat, Google Talk, among others. Some of you may have seen my Twitter and Pidgin Sync Guide before, but that is outdated, and required PERL to be installed, and was a HUGE HEADACHE to get working properly
This is a much more easy approach to things, and uses the superior multi-protocol client, Digsby. If you’re still using Pidgin, but have a little bit more RAM to spare, please consider the switch to Digsby. I won’t go into all the advantages of it, try www.digsby.com for that.
Anyhow, the reason why this is handy, simply put: iPhone/Android users out there, are updating via twitter more often now than ever. Not to mention ANYBODY can do this via a simple text message to Twitter.

So diving right in this will allow you to set your status via one tweet, to basically every IM account, even if your not at home.
1. Download Digsby.
2. Configure Digsby to us all your IM accounts.
3. Download DigTweet. This is an older version provided from the author’s website, as the newest version did not fucntion properly.
4. With Digsby running, unzip and find a good location for DigTweet, run it, and configure it to your TWITTER FEED, not your Twitter account. Do this by going to your Twitter profile, at the bottom left you will see “RSS” click that, and copy/paste the URL into DigTweet.
5. If you’re concerne about usage, leave it at 5 minutes, otherwise change it to 1, for nearly instant status updates.
6. Exit the program via the X in the upper right corner, this will minimize it to the System Tray.
7. Test it with some tweets, all should be working fine.
